July 2, 2004

Departed Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and headed for Edmonton, Alberta. We arrive at the Howard Johnson's, then off to the Mall. It is as spectacular as it was the last time. Ate at Moxies Grill and yes Sharron said the Ladies Room has a fireplace and big screen TV as well.

Departed Northern Rockies Lodge, Muncho Lake, British Columbia and headed for Johnson's Crossing, Yukon Territory. We drove for about an hour and stopped at Liard Hot Springs. This is definately a must stop! Then we made a stop at Watson Lake, YT for a stroll through the Sign Post Forest. The fires are burning and saw lots of evidence of them. We arrive in Johnson's Crossing for the evening.

July 6, 2004

Departed Johnson's Crossing, Yukon Territory and headed for Tok, Alaska. Today was the most grueling driving. It was mostly in the rain and the road from Hains Junction to the Alaska border was all torn up. Next year this road will be great. Border crossing into Alaska was uneventful. We arrived in Tok exhausted. Relaxing dinner at the Westmark and to bed.

Departed Tok, Alaska and headed for Fritz Creek, Alaska (HOME!). Today will be a long drive. The Tok Cutoff is not the best of roads but better thaqn yesterday. Stopped in Cooper's Crossing at the Sunrise Inn for supper. We arrived at Timber Bay about 2200. Sharron walked around the house for a quick look. Then went upstairs to the apartment for a waiting Manhattan. Finally got to bed around Midnight.
